Disney's Boardwalk Resort | Harrington Family
Feb 10, 2020
I have been resort hopping since my first time at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge when I was 8. The first time I laid my eyes on Disney’s Boardwalk Resort I knew that one day I just HAD to do a photo session here. Thank you to Caitlin and James for making this happen for me!
Not only is it an awesome place to spend an evening with an ice cream cone (watch out for the seagulls!), but it’s the most “Hannah” hotel that exists on Walt Disney World property. I’m all about the whites, and light colored pastels… and this hotel is nothing but that!
I spent a wonderful morning with the Harringtons exploring the Boardwalk and I’m so grateful that they made this session happen.
I’m eager to get back to the Boardwalk hotel with an engaged or young married couple for a sunset session sometime soon! If you’re interested and willing to buy my ice cream, let’s talk… I’m feeling a generous discount for this special session!
Story time: I’m serious about those seagulls. They are vicious! I have a rule for myself when snowbirding that I can’t buy any food at Disney World unless it’s a social event like hanging out with family or showing friends around the parks. Since I fly solo most of the time, this keeps me from spending too much money... and getting fat. Last year, I decided to treat myself and break the rule JUST ONCE to get something from Ample Hill’s Creamery that I had been dying to try. I walked from Epcot to get my precious ice cream cone and was so excited for this special treat. I took a few steps outside, held my cone out straight in front of me to snap a picture, (because if you didn’t take a picture, it didn’t happen) and a seagull dive bombed my cone, ripped it out of my hand, and smashed it on the ground right in front of me. Then him and three of his closest friends feasted together for about 10 seconds before there was absolutely no trace of the crime. I looked around in shock and nobody had witnessed what went down that day. The evil bird acted so swiftly, that he stole the cone from my hand, but not the paper that came around the cone. That was still somehow in my hand.
With my head down, I shyly went back into Ample Hill’s to share my sob story and the kind women there gave me a brand new cone for free. And not only that… they piled the ice cream high on that sucker. I stepped outside with my guard up, and fearfully ate my ice cream and flinched every time I heard a seagull.
The end.
